The Creatives Journal is a place for unknown and up-and-coming authors. By accepting unsolicited articles and stories we are giving all authors the opportunity to become published. As we are a new platform all submissions are currently unpaid, and it is free to submit your work.

 

What to submit

We are looking for a variety of literature pieces ranging from 50 to 2000 words. To make The Creative Journal a platform for as many authors as possible we will accept everything but adult/mature content. 

What we accept includes:

  • Poetry

  • Fiction

  • Non-fiction

  • Short stories

  • Biographies

  • Essays

Themes that we do not accept

  • Adult/mature content

  • Defamatory content

  • Racial content

  • Other illegal or offensive content

If any content of this type passes through the submissions process or receives complaints it will be removed from the site without any prior notice to the author. All complaints will be investigated before a story is permanently removed from the site.

We are also looking for exclusive pieces. This means they will not appear on any other online or print platform. It is our aim to respond to all authors within 2 - 4 weeks. If you have not heard from us in that time feel free to submit to other platforms. If your work is accepted by another platform within the 4 weeks you are required to let us know so that we don’t publish your work.

How to Submit

Poems and stories for The Creatives Journal must be submitted by email to TheCreativesJournal@zohomail.com.au for review. A quick spelling and grammar check will be done on all accepted works. 

Formatting your submission

Please follow these guidelines when submitting your stories:

Subject line: Your Name - Submission Name - Genre

Email Body: Please include the below in the body of your email.

  • Submission Name (again)

  • Word Count

  • Style/Genre

  • Any tags or warning associated with your work.

  • Have you submitted with us before?

  • Have you been published with us before

    • If yes, please include the submission names

  • An acknowledgement that you have read and agree with the submission guidelines and Submission terms

Attachment

  • Please attach a word document of your finished story or poem

  • If you have a specific cover image you would like to feature with your story or poem please attach this too, this must be a high resolution image that you own or have written permission to use. 

  • Please ensure your image and story or poem are 2 different attachments.

Terms and Conditions of submitting to The Creatives Journal

Content may be submitted for publication under the following conditions:

  • You guarantee that you are the original copyright holder of the work in question, and you own the legal rights to use the information. As such, we have no legal liability regarding any copyright claims, but will simply remove offending articles as/when we are advised of any breaches.

  • Any material submitted will be reviewed by The Creatives Journal which decides on its publication. The publication of any material submitted will be at the sole discretion of The Creatives Journal.

  • We reserve the right to accept, reject or remove any material submitted for publication with no explanation.

  •  All articles submitted are submitted without any financial consideration now or in the future.

  • Any material deemed defamatory, racist, or otherwise illegal or offending will in any case not be approved for publication.

  • By submitting materials, you grant us an exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to republish any material you submit to us in any format, including without limitation print and electronic format. In particular, you agree that we can make it available in this Blog as well as in any other The Creatives Journal publications and/or media or social media, provided that due credit is given to the author.

  • It is a requirement of our submission process that you agree to receive occasional emails from us. If any of these notification emails are returned, we may refuse or withdraw publication.

  • You acknowledge that any breach of the above mentioned warranties may cause us damage or loss and you agree to indemnify us in full and permanently against any third party liabilities, claims, costs, loss or damage we incur as a result of publishing material you submit to us, including consequential losses.

  • The working language of The Creatives Journal is English. Hence, we only accept materials submitted in English to ensure that we reach a maximum number of Users.

  • All Submissions should be written in a clear language, with observation of rules of English grammar and spelling. We accept posts complying with either U.S. or U.K. rules of spelling, provided that one system is used consistently throughout the Blog Post.

  • The text must be formatted in Ariel 10 point, with single spacing. All embedded formatting must be removed.

  • All materials must be submitted in Microsoft Word-format.
